The Cannondale Tesoro range is a new grouping for 2010 and combines elements of previous seasons’ Street derailleur and Trekking bikes with the classic and flat-bar tourers. With short wheelbase and laid-back geometry, the range allows you to plan travels further afield on the road: an attainable aspiration given the wide spread of gears and high spec tyres supplied.
Using their acclaimed expertise in aluminium frame building, Cannondale have developed a new frame design for the Tesoro. The new frame gives good resistance to the torsional loads associated with pannier loading, while retaining light weight and offering what is called ‘”vertical compliance” (= a comfortable ride).
The Tesoro range deserves the epithet “multi-modal”.
The Cannondale Tesoro Traveller Rohloff is the flagship bike of the range and presents a well-equipped package for the adventurous rider looking for low maintenance. Using the legendary Rohloff 14 speed hub gear, there are enough gears to take you pretty much anywhere, and covering a spread to rival most bikes with 27 gears. Having been used trouble-free by recent round-the-world riders, covering 18,000 miles each, the Rohloff hub gear is well proven - you can be fairly confident that it should be able to cope with whatever you throw at it.
The use of Cannondale’s proprietary Headshock suspension irons out any road surface harshness while the hydraulic disc brakes deliver powerful and well-modulated stopping.
The equipment package includes one of the highest calibre Tubus rear racks and a lighting system comprising Shimano hub dynamo and LED lamps.
This bike can take you anywhere you dare to dream of.
