Ridgeback's Rapide range of bikes is the brand's highly successful staple range of versatile all-rounders. These bikes are good value but high quality British designed bikes either lightly equipped with rack and mudguards, or unequipped for a more sporty look.

We like them for their smart understated styling; their general lack of suspension forks - which we feel to be unecessary for this type; and their more consistent use of high quality Shimano parts than you will find on other brands. Lightweight too!

The Ridgeback Velocity is the brand's first step onto the ladder of rugged and sporty hybrids, introducing a lightweight double-butted aluminium frame propelled and stopped by Shimano's dependable Acera 24 speed componentry. Light and strong wheels wear high quality German rubber fashion, in the form of Continental Contact fast-rolling, puncture resistant tyres. Offering an affordable, sporty ride, the Velocity can be used for medium distance road rides or for more leisurely jaunts. Regular commuting is always possible once mudguards and rack are added.

The light and responsive ride and affordable price has made the Velocity a perennial favourite.
