The Ridgeback Folding range is made by Dahon, but because Ridgeback is a UK company their bikes are specified with the needs of the UK market in mind.

Three bikes are offered in this range, all with 20" wheels and hingeing mainframe. All of them are offered with mudguards, rack, kickstand and complimentary carry bag. They can be ridden by children as young as 10 years or so.

The three models slot into our extensive range of folding bikes by providing a reliable 6 speed at the entry level, a high quality 7 speed in the low-to-mid range and a great value 7 speed hub geared commuter.

We think you'll agree that the value for money offered by the Ridgeback folders is hard to equal.

The Ridgeback Rendezvous is our cheapest folding bike and therefore quite popular. Its simple reliable spec has provided dependable transport to many canal boaters and caravanners, as well as occsional commuters and day trippers.

The basic hi-tensile steel frame is not particularly light, but contributes much to the planted feel of the bike while riding. Unlike the other Ridgeback folders, this one is not made by Dahon, but the fold is similar to many Dahons and Dahon-clones - pretty basic, leaving you with a fairly large and quite heavy bulk, but the pedals fold away and it is stable on the two wheels and seat post.

Good for short, not-overly frequent commutes and short rides on the open road. For longer rides or more intensive use, consider spending more.
