Ridgeback's Rapide range of bikes is the brand's highly successful staple range of versatile all-rounders. These bikes are good value but high quality British designed bikes in either lightly equipped trim, with rack and mudguards, or a naked, more sporty trim.

The equipped Rapides get you from A to B in a light and efficient manner, with the assurance that mudguards will keep you and the bike clean and the rack will carry the load.

We like them for their smart understated styling; their general lack of suspension forks - which we feel to be unecessary for this type; and their more consistent use of high quality Shimano parts than you will find on other brands.

Ridgeback Meteor Women's 2012

The Ridgeback Meteor is a lightly-equipped bike for light commuting or utility use, owing to its full length mudguards and rear rack, combined with Shimano Acera/Altus 24 speed gearing and strong, light wheelset. The adjustable handlebar stem means you can get the bar position exactly right and the suspension seat post takes much of the sting out of any potholes. As well as protecting your nether regions, the Meteor, in common with most of the Rapide series, reduces the likelihood of puncture with high spec Continental Contact tyres. This women's specific bike comes in a lovely russet colour.
