Equipped with only the bare essentials, the new Van Stael (Dutch for 'made of steel') will go about its urban routines with understated style and a minimum of fuss.

A beautifully made classic diamond lugged steel frame, stunning Brooks leather saddle and matching grips, polished aluminium bars, stem and cranks, stainless steel mudguards, the simplicity of Shimano Nexus hub gears and 2 calliper rim brakes (replacing the back-pedal coaster brake of previous seasons). A big fat 'ping' bell too! A matching front carrier is also available. Should you want a rear rack we can fettle you a custom-made bracket to discreetly mount a Tubus Fly Classic in stainless steel.

One for the urban purists...
