Brompton

The Brompton is a British folding bike that just does the business. In doing so, it sets the standard. It's designer Andrew Ritchie did this by engineering a bike where the back wheel flipped under a curved frame, for both parking and folding. This also allowed for the inclusion of rear suspension and thus high-pressure tyres. The end result was a bike that not only folded smaller and faster than anything else on the market, but one that also rode exceptionally well, and thus at a stroke overcame most the of the limitations that had hitherto dogged small wheeled bikes - folding or otherwise. It's low weight, short wheelbase, small wheels and light steering make it a very fast accelerating and agile machine - perfect for urban riding. In fact, it's become a British design classic - like the Mini or the Spitfire - where its form has followed its function towards a most aesthetically pleasing result.

We love Bromptons at Cycle Heaven and have been selling them almost as long as we have been in business. As a result, we have acheived the coveted higest level in terms of Brompton accreditation: at York station we are a Brompton Premier Retail Store as well as a Level 3 Brompton Workshop and carry out regular and extensive Brompton servicing. We also now carry a decent range at our main store on Hospital Fields Road.

We aim to always have good stocks of its most popular versions in various colours and are the largest Brompton dealer in Northern England. We also hold a large stock of spares and accessories, including the luggage.

Here we have listed our 'standard' models that we usually stock. But the great thing about Brompton is B-spoke - where you can choose a bike customised to your requirements. We will,of course, help you to choose what's best for you - either from stock, or B-spoke. Click the Brompton bike builder button at the top of the page to start building your perfect Brompton.
